Galina Grigoryan

My name is Galina Mihaylova-Grigoryan, and I was born in Sofia, Bulgaria.
I began my ballet journey at the National Choreographic School in Sofia and later continued my professional studies at the Swiss Professional Ballet School in Zurich. In 1999, I joined the Zurich Ballet under the direction of Heinz Spoerli, where, after years of dedication, I was promoted to Principal Dancer.
Throughout my career, I had the privilege to perform leading roles in classical masterpieces such as Swan Lake (Odette/Odile), Don Quixote (Cupid), The Nutcracker (Marie), as well as contemporary works by renowned choreographers like William Forsythe, JiÅ™í Kylián, and George Balanchine among others.
In 2019, my journey as a professional ballet dancer transitioned beautifully into teaching. Today, I am a ballet instructor and barre workout trainer, passionately sharing my experience and love for dance.
Beyond dance, I find joy in designing and creating art, a passion that allows me to continuously explore my creativity.

The experience gained over all these years, working with a great variety of choreographers, ballet masters, teachers, and directors, is a constant source of inspiration in my creative process.
